Our review article in JCB is now online!

Our review article “The emerging roles of non-canonical ubiquitination in proteostasis and beyond” became open online.
Fumiyo as an editorial board member of the JCB organized and wrote together with Stephanie Kaypee (our postdoc), Fumiaki Ohtake and Yoshino Akizuki (the Ohtake Lab).
The Ohtake lab has expertise in the ubiquitin chains called branched chains. We tried to combine our expertise on linear ubiquitination with theirs in this article.
We believe that we covered the most exciting topics from the ubiquitin biology reserach field.
It was a lot of fun writing this with people with slightly different expertise!
2023年度 卒業お祝いランチの会
池田研からの修論、卒論を終えられた清田さんと上ノ園さんのお祝いランチの会を開きました。
清田さんは九州大学医学部でローテーション、卒業研究を終えた後、大阪大学生命機能で修士の研究を終えられました。
上ノ園さんは大阪大学基礎工学部での卒業研究を終えられました。
お二人、そして指導に関わった皆さん、大変お疲れさまでした。

Annual cleaning and “well-done 2022” gathering 大掃除と慰労会
池田ラボの2022年は、ラボの引っ越しもあり、大変な一年でした。
九州での片付けには九州のラボメンバーが、大阪での立ち上げには引っ越ししてきたメンバーと新規メンバーがそれぞれ大活躍してくれました。
チームとしてやっとサイエンスの方も動いてきましたし、教員は教育や所属研究科運営へも徐々に貢献できるようになってきました。

We had a rough year due to the lab move from Kyushu. I thank all the lab members who contributed to the move from Kyushu and restart in Osaka.
Our lab is getting into a good shape again, and faculty members had a good start with teaching and management as well.
